Pepe by José Andrés quick-service concept coming to Disney Springs

The Disney Parks Blog has revealed new details on Pepe by José Andrés, a new quick-service concept that will be located right next to Andrés’ other restaurant, Jaleo, which opens this winter.

 pepe

This new quick-service location will offer hot and cold Spanish-style sandwiches.

Pepe by José Andrés is inspired by the Washington, D.C. food truck of the same name – this is one of its first-ever brick-and-mortar locations. The menu will feature hot and cold Spanish-style sandwiches, including bocatas and bikinis.

Some of the menu’s highlights include:

  • Pollo Frito – breaded chicken breast, alioli, braves sauce, piparra peppers, gem lettuce, and sherry dressing
  • Serrano y Manchego – served on crispy Pan de Cristal with tomato fresco
  • Bocata de Vegetales – roasted peppers, onion, green asparagus, spinach, and manchego cheese on Pan de Cristal

In addition to the Spanish-style sandwiches, Pepe will also offer salads, soups, and sides along with Spanish sangria.

The walls of Pepe will be decorated with a mural created by Marc Jesús, a famous Menorcan painter, featuring his blue-skinned female characters.

There is no set opening date for either restaurant, though Jaleo is expected to open this winter.

REVIEW: Sweetheart Strawberry Beignets – Valentine’s Month at Disneyland Park

Everyone loves iconic Disney treats. One could argue that the Mickey-shaped beignets are one of the more iconic treats in Disneyland. So how do you make an already iconic treat more desirable? You add strawberry flavoring to the powdered sugar. This strawberry-flavored beignet option is available during Disneyland’s Valentine’s Month Celebration at the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland Park.

Sweetheart Strawberry Beignets – 3 for $5.49

These strawberry beignets look very similar to traditional beignets. You can definitely tell the difference when you bite into them. I’m a bit of a beignet snob and will often tell people that I prefer the beignets at Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express in Downtown Disney to Disneyland’s beignets. I prefer these strawberry beignets to the traditional ones served by Mint Julep. The strawberry flavor is a natural pairing with the powdered sugar. I highly recommend grabbing yourself some of these powdery treats before they go away.

The Disney Parks Blog advertised these beignets as being chocolate-covered strawberry beignets, but I could not detect any chocolate in the powder. I think they were straight-up strawberry beignets. I’m not sure what happened there with that advertising or if it will change in the future. In any case, let us know what you thought about these Mickey-shaped treats if you tried them.

find your wings and flyyy

Emma Stone Steals Cookies With Joe Alwyn At Golden Globes Event & We Love Her Even More For It

Emma Stone took full advantage of the snack selection at the BAFTA Tea Party event on Jan. 5. She and her ‘Favourite’ costar Joe Alwyn snagged some cookies for the road!

Emma Stone knows the best part about going to an event is the free food. The 30-year-old actress attended the BAFTA Tea Party sponsored by Heineken on Saturday, Jan. 5, and made sure to steal some snacks on her way out of the Los Angeles event, an eyewitness told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.

She was talking with her costars from The FavouriteRachel Weisz and Joe Alwyn, when she let her publicist know Rachel needed to leave. Emma then noticed something very important. Our eyewitness said she “stopped and excitedly grabbed a bunch of cookies” before exclaiming “We’ve got cookies!” She “proudly showed them off to her friends, adding, ‘I’m going to eat these later!” our source said, noting that the Easy A star grabbed an entire handful of the individually wrapped baked goods that had BAFTA written on them. SA girl after our own hearts (and snacks)! She took the treats with her when she left with Joe and Rachel.

Our eyewitness also told us about some of the other things Joe got up to inside the event. He hung out with his Boy Erased cast mate Troye Sivan, and let it slip that his girlfriend Taylor Swift was in town. While that’s by no means a confirmation that she’ll show up to the Golden Globes with him on Jan. 6, we can’t help but get our hopes up!
